Lusitanian Illusion

The imagined and imaginary propaganda from salazarism during World War II which claimed the absence of war in the midst of war. Portugal was a paradise of peace and tranquility, a “peaceful oasis” totally oblivious to war that only concerned the others.

A documentary directed by João Canijo, produced by Periferia Filmes (João Trabulo), which was the opening film in IndieLisboa’10 Film Festival and had its theater release in Portugal on April 29th.
